Not everyone wants to spend a fortune eating out. Sometimes you just want good food at a fair price. Hull is actually brilliant for this because the cost of living means you can eat well without breaking the bank.
Here are my go-to cheap eats in Hull:
Dope Burger on Newland Avenue — Smash burgers for about £7-8. Proper tasty, massive portions. The loaded fries are ridiculous. Best burger in Hull for the price, no question.
Kebab Corner on Beverley Road — A Hull institution for late-night food. The mixed kebab wrap for under a fiver is unbeatable value. Been fuelling Hull nights out for years.
The Marrowbone & Cleaver — Pub grub done right. Their pie and chips deal is about £8 and it’s genuinely good quality. Not your frozen Wetherspoons stuff.
Hitchcock’s Vegetarian Restaurant — Pay what you feel, which is an incredible concept. The food is creative, filling, and you literally decide what it’s worth. Hull treasure this place.
Market stalls in Trinity Market — So many good options here. Street food quality at market prices. The Thai place and the Caribbean stall are both excellent.
