Sunderland away is always a big one. Good stadium, decent atmosphere, proper away day feel. I'm driving up this time and trying to put a car together if anyone needs a lift from Hull. Leaving around ten, aiming to be in Sunderland by about half twelve to find a pub before kick off.
Last time we went there we got absolutely battered 3 0 and the drive home was miserable. Silent car, everyone staring out the window, stopping at a services near Scotch Corner where I ate a meal deal in the car park like a broken man. Classic away day.
But this time it's different. We're actually good this season. We've got a genuine squad and Sunderland aren't the force they were a couple of years ago. I fancy us to get something. A draw at least, maybe even a win if Vipotnik turns up.
The Stadium of Light is a great ground to visit even when results don't go your way. The walk from the city centre across the bridge to the stadium is decent and there are loads of pubs near the ground. Just stay out of the ones with Sunderland flags in the window unless you enjoy tension.
Who's making the trip?
