Brilliant three points away at Preston! Really pleased with how we controlled that game, especially in the second half.

Some thoughts from me:
- Solid defensive performance, kept them quiet for most of the match
- Midfield looked much more composed than recent weeks
- Great to see us converting our chances

What did everyone else make of it? Anyone at Deepdale? How was the away support?

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the performance, tactics, and standout players!

Up the Tigers! 🐯

Preston away Tuesday - should be a decent game. They're solid at home but we've been playing alright
lately. Reckon a draw's realistic, 1-1 maybe?
Would take a point away at Deepdale tbh. Keeps us ticking over 👍

Anyone else watching?

Preston away is never easy but we were excellent tonight.

Defended brilliantly first half when they had a bit of
pressure. Then second half we stepped it up and could've
scored 3 or 4 tbh.
Midfield ran the show. Our number 8 was everywhere, won
every second ball. And up front we actually looked
dangerous for once 😂
Away support was class as always. Could hear you lot all
game on the telly!

That's the kind of performance we need more of. Three
points, clean sheet, confidence boost. Let's kick on
from here! 🔶⚫

Excellent result and the performance metrics back up what we saw on the pitch.
First half was textbook away-day management - compact 4-2-3-1 mid-block, forced Preston wide, limited their central penetration. Expected goals against was probably around 0.3-0.4, which shows how well we nullified their threat.
Second half we pushed our defensive line up 5-10 yards and dominated the second balls. The number 8 was exceptional - covered enormous ground, his heat map would show activity in both boxes. Progressive carries into the final third were noticeably higher than our season average.
We probably created chances worth around 1.8-2.0 xG and converted efficiently. Three points, clean sheet, and crucially we didn't overcommit. Disciplined, professional, tactically sound - this is the template for picking up points on the road.
