Everyone talks about Vipotnik and Clarke and Hamer but who's the player that doesn't get enough credit? The one who does a job every week without anyone noticing.
For me it's Slater. Regan Slater does so much dirty work in midfield that goes completely unappreciated. He breaks up play, keeps things simple, and lets the flair players do their thing without worrying about what's behind them. He's not going to score twenty goals or get ten assists but without him the whole system falls apart.
Every successful team needs a Slater. Someone who does the unglamorous stuff that makes everyone else look good. If he was out for six weeks you'd notice the difference immediately.
Who's your pick for most underrated in the squad?

Completely agree on Slater. He's the player that makes everyone else look good and gets zero recognition for it. My pick would also include Mehlem. The lad quietly puts in a seven out of ten performance every single week and nobody talks about him. He keeps possession, he finds the right pass, and he rarely gives the ball away. Not flashy but exactly the kind of player you need in a promotion push. If he played for a bigger club people would be raving about him.

Going to go old school here and say it's whoever plays right back for us. No one ever talks about the right back but they do a job every week. Defending, overlapping, putting crosses in, tracking back. Full backs are the most underappreciated position in football and they always have been. The flashy lads up front get all the glory but the bloke at right back who stops their winger getting a cross in is just as important. Always has been
