Match Summary

Hull City made a strong start and deservedly took the lead through Gelhardt.

The equaliser came in the 77th minute, and once again, points were dropped.

Key Talking Points

  • Another game where Hull failed to hold a lead
  • 3 matches without a win
  • Dropped points at home – serious concern for play-off hopes

Fan Reactions

“Same story every week.”
“Score first → sit back → concede.”
“We won’t make the play-offs playing like this.”
“This team lacks mentality.”

Tactical Analysis

First Half:
  • Good pressing
  • Organised structure
  • Deserved lead

Second Half:
  • Too defensive
  • Lost control of midfield
  • Invited pressure

Conclusion:
Hull City failed to control the game when it mattered.

Player Performance

  • Gelhardt – Bright performance, took his goal well
  • Midfield – Struggled in second half
  • Defence – Lost focus for the equaliser

Big Question

Why does this team drop off after taking the lead?

Your Thoughts

  • Can Hull City still make the play-offs?
  • Is this a tactical issue or a mentality problem?
  • Who was your Man of the Match?

Huffing and puffing sort of game. Understandable from a Birmingham perspective but worrying for us to be so out of form going into a potential playoff campaign. We desperately need a couple of wins from Leicester / Charlton / Norwich (all eminently winnable games) so we can have a bit of momentum going into the playoffs. It is crunch time.
