Is Hull actually a good place to raise kids?

My sister is thinking of moving up from Nottingham with her family and keeps asking me whether Hull is a good place for kids. I obviously think it is because I've raised two here but I wanted to get other people's opinions as well.
The schools are mixed like anywhere. Some are brilliant, some are average. Anlaby and Cottingham have consistently good schools which is one of the reasons those areas are popular with families. The primary schools around the Avenues are decent too.
For activities there's loads. East Park, the Deep, the museums which are free, the Humber Bridge country park, Beverley at weekends. In summer the coast is twenty minutes away. For the cost of a day out at some overpriced theme park you can do a whole week of stuff in Hull.
The biggest selling point is the house prices. You can get a proper family home with a garden for under two hundred grand in most parts of Hull. My sister's budget in Nottingham gets her a two bed terrace. Here it gets a four bed detached.
Anyone else want to chip in? Sell Hull to my sister for me.

Absolutely yes. I'm a single mum with a seven year old and Hull has been brilliant for us. I could never afford a house in most cities but here I've got a three bed semi with a garden in a nice area. The schools in west Hull are good, there's loads of free stuff to do with kids, and the community feel is real. People actually look out for each other's kids in a way that doesn't happen in bigger cities. Tell your sister she'd be mad not to move here.

The coast being twenty minutes away is massively underrated for families. On a sunny Saturday morning we can be on Hornsea beach before most people have finished breakfast. The Wolds are even closer for countryside walks. And then you've got all the museums, East Park, the Deep, Beverley as a day out. The only thing I'd say is do your research on schools because like anywhere there's a big gap between the best and worst. Anlaby, Cottingham, and Kirk Ella schools are consistently strong.
