Is Hull City's squad too big this season?

Lads, I was looking at the squad list earlier and honestly… I didn’t realise we had this many players.

Depending on which list you look at, we’ve got around 28–29 players in the first team squad right now.

That feels like a massive squad for a Championship team.

Of course the season is long:

• 46 league games
• FA Cup
• League Cup

So rotation is important. But still… some players are barely getting minutes.

Every matchday you’ve got a few lads missing out completely.

Personally I’m a bit torn on it.

Pros of a big squad:
• Injuries won’t destroy the season
• Proper competition for places
• Can rotate during busy fixture runs

Cons:
• Some players will never play
• Harder to keep everyone happy
• Matchday squads leave people out

Also when you look at the bench sometimes you realise how many options we actually have.

So I’m curious what everyone else thinks.

Do we actually need a squad this big?

Or would you prefer a smaller squad with more academy players filling gaps when needed?

Interested to hear what other Tigers fans think. 🐯
