The walk from the station to the MKM on matchday

This is mainly for away fans who might find this forum but also for anyone who hasn't done it before. The walk from Hull Paragon station to the MKM Stadium is about 25 minutes and it's actually a really nice way to build up to the game.
Come out of the station and head down Anlaby Road. You'll pass loads of pubs on the way and most of them are alright for away fans as long as you're not being daft about it. The atmosphere builds as you get closer to the ground because more and more people in amber and black start appearing and you can feel the buzz.
The last bit along West Park is decent. A bit of green space before you see the stadium rising up behind the trees. The MKM is a proper good looking ground from outside. Modern but not soulless if that makes sense.
Only advice is don't leave it too late. That twenty five minute walk turns into forty if you're stuck behind thousands of people all going the same way. Get there early, soak it up, enjoy it.

Good post this. Any away fans reading, the walk is easy and safe. Stick to Anlaby Road and you'll be fine. There's a few decent pubs on the way if you want to stop. The New Walton Club is worth a look if it's open and the Halfway House has been a pre match stop for years. Hull fans are generally welcoming to away fans as long as you're not looking for trouble. Enjoy the MKM because it's a proper tidy ground.

The walk back to the station after a night game under the lights is class too. Everyone buzzing if we've won, Anlaby Road full of fans all heading the same way, people singing. It's one of those matchday experiences that makes football special. Much better than sitting in a car park for forty minutes. If you're coming from out of town the train is definitely the way to do it for a Hull City game. The station is right in the city centre and the walk to the ground is part of the experience.
