Everyone has written us off. The bookies have us as outsiders. The pundits are talking about Millwall's experience, Southampton's unbeaten run, Middlesbrough's quality.
Good. Let them sleep on us.
Here is why I genuinely believe Hull City can go to Wembley and win it.
We have already beaten every single team in this playoff.
This is not hopeful thinking. This is a fact. During the regular season, Hull City defeated Millwall, Middlesbrough, and Southampton. We know how to beat these teams. Jakirovic knows their weaknesses. The players have done it before. That matters in knockout football.
We are the most dangerous team no one is watching.
Southampton come in on a 19-game unbeaten run and everyone is talking about them. Millwall carry the weight of a fanbase that has never seen Premier League football. Middlesbrough have pressure of their own. Hull City? We are the house money team. Nothing to lose, everything to gain. That is a terrifying thing to face in a two-legged tie.
The way we play suits playoffs.
Jakirovic has built a team that is incredibly hard to break down and lethal on the counter. In a tight, tense two-legged semifinal where space is at a premium, that style is made for moments like this. We do not need to outplay anyone. We just need to be ruthless when it counts.
