Right so the renewal deadline is coming up and my brain is having the same argument it has every year. On one side there's the sensible part that says it's a lot of money for a bloke who also has a mortgage, two kids, and a car that needs new tyres. On the other side there's the part that would rather sell a kidney than miss a home game.
I've had a season ticket since 2006. Twenty years next year. I've seen relegations, promotions, play off finals, an FA Cup Final, the Allams, Acun, and more 0 0 draws against Rotherham than I care to remember. Through all of it the season ticket has been the one constant. My seat. My people. My matchday.
But the prices are going up again and I'm trying to be responsible. I could save the money and just go to the big games. Cherry pick. Be sensible.
Except I know what would happen. I'd see the team news on a Saturday morning and feel sick that I wasn't going. I'd watch the goals on my phone and wish I was there. I'd miss the walk to the ground, the pre match pint, the roar when the teams come out. I'd miss the bloke next to me who moans for ninety minutes but gives me a hug when we score. I'd miss all of it.
So yeah. I'm renewing. I knew I was going to before I started typing this. I just needed to go through the motions. See you all at the MKM next season. Same seat. Same idiot.
