Is Jakirović the Manager to Take Hull City to the Premier League?

Since taking charge of Hull City, Sergej Jakirović has started to put his own stamp on the team.

We've seen some positive performances and the squad looks more organised in recent games. The pressing looks better and there seems to be a clear structure to how we play, especially in the midfield.

That said, the Championship is a brutal league and consistency is everything if we want to push for the playoffs or even dream about promotion.

Some fans seem convinced Jakirović is the right man for the long term, while others are still unsure and think the squad needs more quality before we can seriously challenge near the top of the table.

Things to consider

• Tactical approach and organisation
• Player development under Jakirović
• Squad depth compared to other playoff contenders
• Consistency in big games

Questions for the forum

Do you think Jakirović is the manager who can take Hull City to the Premier League?

Is the current squad strong enough for a playoff push?

Or do we still need a couple of big signings in the summer?

Interested to hear what everyone thinks.

He's definitely got the potential to get us promoted. If we had more luck with injuries, we'd probably be in 2nd place right now. On that note, the squad is probably strong enough when everybody is fit, which they never are. We can't keep spending like this though, so I think you can rule out big signings. In fact, If we don't go up this year, I could see a bit of a fire sale and probably Sergej jumping ship. I really rate him, but the guy is an ambitious mercenary.

By losing to our two biggest rivals, we’ve made our Premier League hopes much harder. Our chances of reaching the play-offs are still strong, but we have some very tough opponents ahead of us. Of course, what every fan truly wants is promotion to the Premier League. If this team manages to go up, Acun’s goal is to reinvest everything he earns from the club back into the team and build a squad capable of keeping Hull City in the Premier League.
