WE ARE IN THE PLAYOFFS.Say it again. Hull City AFC are in the Championship Playoffs.
Nobody gave us a chance. A club tipped for a relegation battle. A squad rebuilt from scratch. A manager most of us had never heard of twelve months ago.
And yet here we are.
What happened today:
Hull City came from behind to beat Norwich City 2-1 at the MKM Stadium, with Oli McBurnie scoring twice — including a 67th-minute winner — to send the Tigers into the top six. Meanwhile, Wrexham could only draw 2-2 at home to Middlesbrough, and Derby County failed to do enough against Sheffield United. When the final whistles blew across the Championship, Hull had muscled their way into sixth place on the most dramatic final day imaginable.
This is what football is for.
Who do we face?
Millwall. Third place. At the MKM first.
We've already beaten them twice this season — 3-1 at The Den in December, 1-0 at home in March. We know exactly what they are. And after today, they should know what we are too.
Playoff semi-final schedule:
- First leg (MKM Stadium) — 8 or 9 May
- Second leg (The Den) — 11 or 12 May
- Wembley Final — 23 May 2026
