Why does nobody outside Hull know about chip spice?

This genuinely baffles me. We've got the greatest chip seasoning known to humanity and the rest of England is just eating plain chips like savages. How has chip spice not spread beyond the Hull postcode?
I was in Manchester last month and asked for chip spice at a chippy and the woman looked at me like I'd asked for chips with moon dust. I tried explaining what it was and she said they don't do that here. Don't do that here? It's paprika and salt and garlic basically. How do you not do that?
Every time I go anywhere outside Hull I bring a jar of chip spice with me like some kind of seasoning missionary. I've converted about fifteen people so far. They all say the same thing. Why have I never had this before? Because you don't live in Hull mate, that's why.
I'm convinced that if a major brand packaged chip spice and sold it nationally it would be massive. Someone would make a fortune. But part of me doesn't want that to happen because it's ours and I like it that way.
Does anyone know the actual history of chip spice? Like who invented it and when did it become a Hull thing? I've always wondered.
